Looking back on the #bonjourstartup adventure at Collision 2019

Two weeks ago, Bonjour Startup Montréal officially announced a delegation of 145 key actors to Collision 2019 – one of the largest delegations ever sent by the Montreal startup ecosystem to an international event, and a first for Bonjour Startup Montréal.

55 entrepreneurs gathered at Notman House in the early morning of Tuesday, May 21st for the departure of the official #bonjourstartup bus to Collision 2019. Tired, but with a smile on their faces, the delegates of the #MTLatCollision delegation arrived in Toronto, after 6 hours of laughs and surprises thanks to the brilliant animation set up by Les Rassembleurs. “Great experience at Collision. Our goal was mainly to open the dialogue with some VCs and to consolidate relationships. We were also very curious about the content of the conferences. In the end, we can easily say that it is mission accomplished. Special thanks to Taylor Gendron (a digital marketer very involved in the Montreal tech ecosystem) who allowed us to attend a private dinner yesterday with VC New York. This evening gave a lot of value to the conference.” Stay22

This major project, set up in just 2 months, is perfectly in line with the mission of large-scale vision and serves as a perfect representation of Bonjour Startup Montréal’s approach to facilitate the growth of local startups, both in the local and international market. Collaborations between different actors create unique opportunities for our entrepreneurs, and this is what this initiative demonstrates.

“An exceptional opportunity to discover the Toronto ecosystem. Bonjour Startup Montréal has helped us to create important bridges that will benefit the expansion of the company. Being part of the largest delegation to Collision was an opportunity for Locketgo to create new Toronto business relationships and to strengthen ties between the Montreal community.” Catherine D’avril, co-founder of Locketgo

The delegation spent 3 days, strong emotions and discoveries. The 145 key players in the delegation came together more united than ever, and motivated by the ultimate common goal: To give Montréal back its place on the international startup scene, to make the city one of the epicenter of the global startup scene. .

“As a partner in the Montreal startup ecosystem, Centech is proud to have participated in this first delegation organized by Bonjour Startup Montréal. This mission allowed our entrepreneurs to connect with investors and potential customers and also to strengthen Centech’s strategic positioning in the Toronto area.” Julian Lucchesi, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Centech.

A mission more than successful !

“Collision was a great and unique experience. I was able to meet and listen to a large number of tech leaders from around the world. The conference allowed us to get in touch with a large number of Canadian and American investors but also to consolidate our relations with our current partners. We also visited the various innovation hubs in Toronto to establish partnerships with them. I would also like to thank Bonjour Startup Montreal for giving us this opportunity and for allowing me to meet some inspiring Montreal entrepreneurs who were part of the delegation. Finally, I encourage all Montreal startups to participate in Collision next year to promote entrepreneurship here.”

“VR Fairies had a great experience at Collision. The best encounters were unexpected while eating a hotdog, waiting in line or having a beer during the night summits. What a joy to see all these startups and see so many people wanting to share and make a difference.

Thank you!!”

“Collision was my first experience at an international startup event. I really enjoyed the conferences of of Justin Trudeau and Shahrzad Rafati. Shahrzad, being Canadian / Iranian like me and being the founder of BroadbandTV, has become my source of inspiration and motivation. During the conferences, I really felt that the government is ready to support a growing startup ecosystem and that made me very happy.

Thanks again to everyone!”

“As the founder and CEO of a digital marketing agency, I set myself a goal of exchanging with 10 agency owners, but I was able to exceed this goal in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality because I had access to big players in the industry and it was very rewarding. In short, it is a meeting point for any entrepreneur who wants to move to the next level!”
