Program of the day

You may be wondering what to expect on this day! Don’t worry, we’ll tell you all about our Fondatrices initiative and the day’s content.

With

  • Sandrine Balthazard – Le Parloir – caves privées
  • Ashley Werhun – Mentorly
  • Linzi Shang – Gallea
  • Annette Nguyen – Shwap Club

These 4 women with very different personalities and projects have one thing in common: they founded a startup from scratch, and are now seasoned entrepreneurs.

They will tell you all about this journey full of pitfalls and victories, and how they went from idea to success.

Before embarking on an entrepreneurial adventure, it is important to understand your WHY (what motivates you) and your idea. In this workshop using the “BMC YOU” method, you will have the opportunity to both practice the basic tool of a business start-up (the Business Model Canvas) and to do an introspection on your desires, your motivations, your entrepreneurial flame.

Explore an essential and much appreciated exercise in an entrepreneurial journey: peer-to-peer.

Gathered in sub-groups moderated by a coach, share your idea, your entrepreneurial motivation, your blocks. Leave this workshop realizing that you are not alone and with advice and encouragement that will boost you!

12:00 pm – Break for lunch

Practical workshop! After a description of the steps to create a startup, work on an entrepreneurial project as a group.

Inspired, motivated, loaded with knowledge and tools, and a clearer idea… what to do now?

Montréal is full of entrepreneurial support organizations, programs, and funding opportunities. Never think that to create your startup you are alone and obliged to finance everything from your pocket!

We’ll give you an overview of all the doors you can push to make your project a reality.

The first path to take, to facilitate the realization of your project and your entry into the entrepreneurial world, is our Fondatrices program. We are ahead of most of the entrepreneurial programs you could do next. We give you the first keys to get started!

And who better to talk about it than our former Fondatrices?

Stick around for a bit to celebrate this intensive day with a drink and some bites! Our Fondatrices Program Manager, as well as former Fondatrices will still be around to answer any questions you may have.

Our mission

Less than 25% of entrepreneurs in Montréal are women and only 12% have a technological aspect. Startup Montréal wants to change these statistics by accompanying ambitious women towards the realization of their entrepreneurial dream. The FoundHers program focuses on both the development of human potential and the transformation of the idea into a business project.
